Who we are

This policy covers M G Keen Pty Ltd (ABN 85 676 249 362), trading as Keen Acquisitions, a licensed buyers agency on the Central Coast of NSW. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “I” mean Keen Acquisitions.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

We only ask for what we need to help you buy well.

Contact details

Your name, email, phone number and suburb.

Your brief

What you’re looking for, where, your timing, your budget and anything else you choose to tell us about your situation, such as your family, work or reasons for moving.

Finance and identity

If you become a client, we may need details about your finance approval and identity documents. We are required to verify identity under anti money laundering and counter terrorism financing laws.

Website information

When you visit our website, our website platform and analytics tools may record things like your device, browser, pages viewed and how you found us. This is generally collected through cookies.

How we collect it

  • When you fill in a form on our website, including downloading a guide
  • When you book a call or contact us by phone, email or social media
  • During meetings, inspections and conversations while we work together
  • From people you ask us to deal with, such as your mortgage broker, conveyancer or solicitor
  • From selling agents and public property data when we research homes for you

If you don’t give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to help you, or help you as well.

Why we use it

  • To respond to your enquiry and send you anything you’ve asked for, like the Sydney to the Central Coast guide
  • To provide our buyers agent services, including searching, assessing, negotiating and bidding on property for you
  • To follow up with you about your plans and our services
  • To send you property market updates and guides, if you’ve agreed to receive them
  • To meet our legal obligations, including licensing, record keeping and identity verification
  • To run and improve our business and website

You can tell us at any time that you don’t want marketing from us. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can just reply and let us know.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information.

We only share it where it’s needed to do our job for you, or where the law requires it. That can include:

  • Selling agents and vendors, when we make enquiries or negotiate on your behalf
  • Professionals you ask us to work with, such as your broker, conveyancer, solicitor, building and pest inspectors and valuers
  • Service providers that help us run the business, such as our website, email, scheduling and file storage providers
  • Government agencies, regulators and law enforcement, where we are required or allowed to by law

Overseas storage

Some of our service providers store data overseas, including in the United States. We use reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected.

Keeping it safe

We store information in secure, password protected systems and limit access to the people who need it. When we no longer need your information, and the law doesn’t require us to keep it, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will let you know and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required.

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Get in touch using the details below and we’ll respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
